Placenta Encapsulation
Placenta encapsulation preserves the placenta for consumption postpartum. The preservation process includes dehydrating the placenta, grounding it into a powder, and then putting the powder into vegetable based (vegan) capsules for use.
What is the benefit of placenta encapsulation? During the first few days after birth, the hormones within the body that surge to help nourish a healthy pregnancy quickly drop. This shift can be difficult for the physical and emotional body to experience. By consuming the placenta postpartum, these hormones and additional nutrients are reintroduced into the body and can make for a smoother transition out of pregnancy & birth and into postpartum.
The encapsulation process takes approximately 24 hours.

If you live in Pemberton, Whistler, or Squamish one of our doulas will come pick up your placenta from hospital or home. If you are not local to Squamish, you are welcome to drive to Squamish for pick up or we can deliver your placenta pills at an additional cost depending on location.
Placenta tincture is a concentrated liquid taken orally in drops. The tincture is made by placing a piece of the dehydrated placenta in 60% or higher alcohol (I use Vodka) and left to concentrate for 6 weeks. The tincture, when stored correctly in a dark and cool place, is good for a lifetime. More research is coming out on the benefits of placenta tincture during menopause!

Placenta Prints are a wonderful way to remember the pregnancy and birth journey. Prints are done with blood and/or natural paint pigment.
